14Jan2017 - Spear fisherman drowning

Reports were received this morning at 07:50 via the Water Emergency Response Committee that a spear fisherman was missing off Thunderbolt Reef.

The NSRI launched their duck Rescue 6A, and requested additional assistance from Noordhoek Divers and also Tactical Task Team.
The CWR squad was activated to assist them with a shore search.

After members arrived on scene at Cape Recife, information was received that the NSRI had located the victim and was proceeding to Noordhoek where paramedics and the EMS chopper Aeromed2 was on standby.

Unfortunately resuscitation attempts were not successful.
