29Nov2016 - Redhouse Drowning

29 November 2016

Coastal Water Rescue responded to a drowning in progress reported on the WERC (Water Emergency Response Committee) today at 13.50 in the Redhouse area. On arrival it was establish that two children got into trouble while attempting to swim across the river. A group of boys saw the two children in trouble and ran to call for help. An extensive water search was performed and the body of one of the victims was recovered by the SAPS Dive Unit. The other victim is still missing.
