19Sep2016 - Capsized boat Sunday's River
19 September 2016Tonight at 18:01 the CWR squad was activated after reports received from the Water Emergency Response Committee (WERC) that a boat capsized in the Sunday's River mouth.
On arrival it was established that the boat was not occupied, it was anchored on a sand bank and the fishermen were fishing close by. The boat dislodged during the incoming tide. At the time the fishermen was not aware of this, and it was called in by a 3rd party.
The fisherman were cut off from shore but was on a sand bank. The BWBLSC rescue duck was available on scene and BWBLSC life savers ferried the fishermen with their equipment back to shore.
