Multiple drowning Kings Beach

27 February 2012

On Saturday evening at 18:10 the squad was activated to a multiple drowning at Kings Beach where 2 of the 3 were rescued. Big thanks you to all the lifesaving clubs that were there (East Cape Champs) that assisted us with the search. Was a privilege to see everyone working together for an end goal. Unfortunately the 20 year old NMMU student is still missing. Then on Sunday the squad was activated to a drowning as Swartkops (Tiger Bay). Luckily we managed to get to the victim in time and provide medical treatment. Big thanks to Metro for their fast response. And lastly at 17:15 all emergency services were activated to a light aircraft crash on Swartkops river where a small C150 'landed' on an island in the middle of Swartkops river just off Red House. The Pilot was lucky enough to walk out of the incident. Great to see all of PE Emergency Services working hand in hand.
