01Feb2022 - Drowning Hobie Beach

The CWR squad was activated at 18:12 on Tuesday 1 Feb 2022 following reports of a drowning in progress at Hobie Beach, after swimmers jumped from the pier and were in trouble. 

It was established the two friends had jumped from the pier, the one managed to get out of the water, but the other was in trouble in the water, and he was retrieved by a bystander. 

When the CWR squad members arrived CPR was already in progress, and a stand down was issued to the squad.
