10Oct2019 - Drowning BWB

Today at 09:56 the CWR was activated following reports of a drowning in progress at BWB near the mouth.

On arrival it was established that 3 people went into the water and got into trouble, 2 managed to get out but one person was caught in a rip current. The squad performed a water search for an hour, with the Beach Office Jetski, and craft from Sea Rescue Station 6 were also searching.

Despite this extensive effort was nothing found, a stand-down was issued and the scene was handed over the SAPS.
