30Jul2018 - Drowning Swartkops River

On Monday 30 July at 21:59 the CWR squad was activated following reports from WERC that there was a drowning in progress at Swartkops River. On arrival after talking to eye witnesses it was established that a single male was observed in the river, bystanders attempted to assist the person in the water but was not successful.

A shore search was performed which was called off at 22:59 and will be resumed today.

Services on scene: Coastal Water Rescue, BWB Rescue, EMS, Fire Department, SAPS Sector vehicle, SAPS Dive Unit.
