03Mar2018 - Hike group Wild Side

Today at 11.55 Coastal Water Rescue activated the squad following reports of drowning in progress near the Cape Recife lighthouse. On arrival it was establish that there were at least 6 patients, at that time 4 were still in the water. NSRI team were already on scene and shortly after managed to reach the patients in the water and get them to the beach.

Several patients received medical treatment, with one airlifted to hospital, and another taken to hospital via road.

Well done NSRI on this brilliant response and outcome.
