28Jan2018 - Drowning New Brighton Beach
28 January 2018Today at 07:25 Coastal Water Rescue activated the squad after reports received from WERC (Water Emergency Response Committee) of a drowning in progress at New Brighton Beach. On arrival squad members together with BWBLSC immediately entered the water and initiated a water based search. The BWBLSC rescue duck and a civilian jetski were launched to assist with the search.
Despite an extensive search of the area the victim was unfortunately not located. The SAPS chopper was also launched and assisted with an aerial search.
