12Jan2018 - Swartkops River

Coastal Water Rescue activated the squad today at 11:12 after reports received from WERC (Water Emergency Rescue Committee) of a drowning in progress in Swartkops.

On arrival it was established that Sgt Vosloo (SAPS Rapid Rail) was patrolling nearby when he heard people calling for help. With their assistance he managed to retrieve the body and immediately started performing CPR as the patient was unresponsive and not breathing

Sgt Vosloo successfully managed to resuscitate the patient, and placed him in the recovery position awaiting assistance from EMS.

A stand down was issued to the CWR squad as no further assistance was required.
