01Nov2017 - Drowning Cotswold
01 November 2017At 19h43, 01 November 2017, CWR members responded to a drowning in progress at a private pool in Cotswold, Port Elizabeth.
The initial report was that a 4yr old child was found in the pool, rescued by the child’s mother and CPR had been initiated by bystanders. First responders took over the management of the child and continued CPR. Treatment was elevated with advanced life support interventions, but unfortunately, the resuscitation was declared unsuccessful after all attempts were made for a successful outcome.
Other services on scene included NMB EMS, Traumanet EMS, Relay EMS, Coastal Water Rescue, Fire and Emergency, Beach Office Lifeguards, SAPS (Mount Road) and ECDOH Forensic Pathology Services.
