27Apr2017 - Fisherman trapped at Cape Recife

Today at 15:11 CWR activated to squad to send rescue swimmers to Cape Recife to assist the NSRI to rescue 3 fisherman who got stuck on a rock during the incoming tide.

The CWR swimmers joined the crew from NSRI and starting swimming out to the rock where the fisherman were marooned. There was a deep gulley between the rock and the beach, with strong currents and tides making it a bit more difficult to cross.

The fisherman were equipped with either a life jacket or wraparound Bouy, and taken across the gulley one by one until they were all back on the beach where they were reunited, cold but in good spirits.
