01Apr2017 - Capsized duck Cape Recife

CWR activated the squad on 1 April at 13:52 following reports from WERC (Water Emergency Rescue Committee) of a capsized rubber duck just off Cape Recife. NSRI requested assistance of rescue swimmers to assist with two patients in the water.

Two people had been on board the rubber duck, when it capsized just off the shore at the lighthouse. They got separated, but both managed to reach the rocky shoreline.

Both patients were assisted off the rocks and brought to shore safely. They were treated for lacerations and shock by medical personel on scene.
