04Mar2017 - Drowning Sumcay

CWR activated the rescue squad at 12:14 following reports from WERC (Water Emergency Rescue Committee) of a drowning in progress at Sumkay.

On arrival it was established that the patient, a 14 year old child, was found unresponsive and removed from the pool by family members. CPR was initiated and transported by private vehicle to the hospital in Uitenhage. Unfortunately the patient was declared dead on arrival.
