05Feb2017 - Drowning Brighton Pier
06 February 2017Last night at 22:16 CWR was activated after a call received that a fisherman had fallen off Brighton Pier and was in the water.
On arrival by CWR road crew visual contact was made with the victim.
Using a box line for safety swimmers from CWR and BWBLSC entered the water under guidance from other crew on the pier. They managed to locate the victim and retrieved him back to the beach where CPR was initiated.
Unfortunately the resuscitation attempt was not successful.
Our condolences to the friends and family of victim.
