01May2019 - Drowning North End Lake

On Wednesday 1 May 2019 the CWR squad was activated following reports from the Water Emergency Response Committee of a drowning in progress at the North End Lake. 

On arrival it was established that a single adult male had entered the water, he started experiencing difficulties and disappeared under the surface. 

CWR swimmers were deployed, and a local craft from the club provided assistance on the water. 

After an underwater search was the victim located and taken to shore. CPR was initiated but unfortunately, it was not successful and the scene was handed over the SAPS.
